Palforzia - Dr. Blair/Dr. Robbins?

These providers are listed on the Palforzia website as offering the treatment at their practice. Does anyone have any experience with them? We would go to the Sterling office but they also have one in McLean.

The most important criteria if you are looking for OIT is a place that does a LOT of it.

OP make sure you understand what your child is taking on by going the OIT route vs your/their goals. Daily dosing, hourly+ rest periods before and after each dose, potential side effects (nausea, GI pain, itching, increased risk for anaphylaxis). All with the goal of, in the case of Palforzia, eating max one peanut a day.

OIT can be a game changer for some families, but so can just Xolair alone if you're just looking for protection from cross contamination. Our child is doing Xolair with the goal to challenge out and free eat on their allergen at the 6 month mark. We understand the pro/con of that vs just OIT alone.

Hopefully, you've had a chance to research and talk through the options fully with your allergist. Good luck.

If you are near Sterling you can also consider Dr. Kim from Northern Virginia Allergy Partners. He was one of the first providers in the area to offer OIT and my daughter completed OIT with him with Palforzia 3 years ago. His office is off Avion Parkway.
