| Are you finding MCPS underwhelming? Or better than you expected? Why? |
| If you're coming from Baltimore you're happy. If you're coming from Howard, you may feel differently. |
| From DCPS, no comparison. Light years better |
| Coming from the Bay Area, it's better. It definitely has issues, but the programs in MCPS are much better. |
| Came from a different state. MCPS is much better. |
| Came from California. MCPS is much, much better. |
Where in CA? Views can vary depending on where in CA they're coming from. |
| Moved from another state. I preferred some things in our old district, but the variety of choices in MCPS, especially at the high school level, is phenomenal. |
This is true for lots of states. |
| From a DC charter in elementary my kids were several years ahead of MCPS. Now in high school and MCPS is much better than it DC options would have been. |
+1. |

Neighbor just moved here from Missouri and said MCPS is better/harder for her 4th grader.
I'm from NY/Long Island and feel my education was much better than what I see in MCPS so far at the elementary level. |

Moved after living in good districts in NC and GA. MCPS is better. Sure each state had a district that was better than where we lived, but even knowing families from those districts I didn’t notice their kids having any noticeably better skills at what would be considered core class. They did have better specials and band programs and extra curricular. But that was just a function of money and parenting outside of school.
The only thing we liked better were the school calendar and community culture. |

Can you elaborate how community culture was? |
