Any recommendations? I usually use The Ordinary serums, but their hyaluronic acid is just too irritating despite the price point being best for my budget
Anything that’s not terribly expensive yet still effective? |

You need to figure out which ingredient is being combined with the hyaluronic acid that is causing your irritation.

| I’ve been using the HA serum from La Roche Posay for the last several months. I switched from ISDIN which has a much higher price point. I’m very happy with LRP. The serum makes my skin feel really plump and hydrated. I put on wet skin and then layer my moisturizer on top. Takes a solid few mins to soak in. |
| Super expensive, but the HA from SkinCeuticals with vitamin B is incredible. It’s the only one that doesn’t break me out or irritate me. |

I like the Cerave cream one from the drugstore. That said, food for thought at the link below - HA is a bit overrated (again I still use it sometimes, but this might explain a bit why you are getting irritated). Straight up hydrating creams or lotions will be better for dry skin. HA is more for temporary plumping. And it is in everything! https://dridriss.com/blogs/news/hyaluronic-acid-101-the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly-3?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQiA6Ou5BhCrARIsAPoTxrAkB-MTJ3GIJ3jzgxYsbJNhsHlCCsYd_wVrAcqgY5W-G9GHOunQfDMaArM8EALw_wcB |
| Does anyone actually have luck with hyaluronic acid? I’ve tried several and they all irritate my skin. |
+1 I've been really happy with this HA. My skin isn't irritated at all. |
| Good Molecules has excellent reviews |
Yes skinceuticals is excellent. |
| HA is actually not an acid, it's a humectant and helps you retain moisture in your skin. It shouldn't be irritating. it's likely something else in the product that is irritating you. |
| I have crazy sensitive skin and HA is just a goo, not irritating. |
| OP here. Thanks so much for the feedback. I think I would be best off by skipping HA and find another solution. My skin is already so dry this Fall that I don't want to risk more redness and irritation. |
| I am highly allergic to HA. If you think it’s breaking your skin out, don’t gas light yourself. |
| I have been a huuuge lover of HA since I started using it. I also use the La Roche Posay. I have super sensitive skin and it loves it. I live in a very dry climate (not DC), and it's been a life saver. I use their sensitive cream right after, and alternate nights with retinol. My skin is the best it's been in years. I'm a fan girl for life. |
