Cardiologist in VA, MD, or DC

DH's cholesterol came back high...again..and this time they are talking about putting him on meds. Heart disease runs in his family. His father had a heart attack before the age of 55. His internist is strictly into prescribing meds and doesn't believe in the effect of diet, lifestyle, or nutrition with hereditary cholesterol. We want an MD who knows about both things. Anyone know of a cardiologist who is very good and knows about both?
