| Does anybody have a suggestion for a physics tutor? DS is a junior taking honors physics. His strengths are not science and math but there was no grade level option at his HS so he is in over his head. Ideally we’d like an MCPS teacher familiar with the curriculum. He does not want online tutoring which is all I have found so far. Anywhere from Bethesda to N Potomac/Gaithersburg will work. Thanks! |
| Princeton Review provided us with an excellent Physics tutor last year, a retired professor of Physics. The sessions are online but live. |
| Mr. Thompson, a physics/science teacher at Wootton, offers tutoring and I’d recommend! |
| Can your son’s physics teacher provide a list of options? I thought schools maintained tutor lists. |
| APlus Education in Rockville offers private tutoring in all subjects as well as test prep and college essay coaching. |
Thank you! I just reached out to him! |
So far I have not been able to obtain one but I will continue to try. |
Thanks! I’ll check it out. Do you know what their rate is? I didn’t find it on the website. |
| We've had good luck with online tutors in other subjects. Much cheaper. Most in person wat $100-150 an hour. Look at the different HS websites and reach out to the teacher teaching it. |
Sorry, I don’t. They are very responsive on email though- just reach out. I can speak highly of their college coaching and SAT prep, but do know they tutor individual subjects. |
I'll second that! |
| Does your school have teachers who can tutor? |
| Sometimes former students can tutor also, ask your school parents. |
