Schools need to pay more. |
Not shocked. |
No one seems very concerned. |
I mean it's a high school. Kids do it. The incoming WH administration has nominated a guy who allegedly did the same (and alleged worse) to be the US Attorney General. Obviously Americans can overlook these things. |
They're not. They would rather pretend cell phones are the problem. Clean up your house APS!!! |
APS continually blows! Let’s blame Trump though! |
When did FYSA become a thing? |
Unfortunately this happens far more frequently within APS. The current admin of APS pays to protect predators working in our schools. My advice is to stay very involved in your children's education and school if at all possible. Staff are mandatory reporters and are required to report these incidents but many are scared to or themselves put through the ringer when they do. |
There’s nothing to argue about. Everyone agrees it’s terrible. What else is there to comment for this one? |
+1 The guy has been arrested. He's gone. WHS/APS didn't just move him to another school. |
Like you couldn't predict this with one glance at the guy. |
What do you guys expect the schools to do other than be on the lookout, know the signs, or wait for a report? They run background checks, but you don't have a history until you do. Now he does and won't be hired again.
Predators know how to hide. |
OP here - I shared in the event WHS parents were not aware as Arlington police believe there may be other victims. Parents should chat with kids to see if he was an instructor. If he has tried this with more kids, that is more counts to charge him with and info helps the county build the case. Of course, schools can only do so much with background checks. Parents need to help teens and younger kids know safety standards / boundaries wrt adults at school. Personally I'd like to take a baseball bat to the knees of people like this. |
Thanks for sharing. The principal did send a message to all WHS families shortly before the news broke, though. |
