I’ve been seeing a lot of kitchen pictures with a different color for bottom cabinets and top cabinets. Typically a dark blue or gray on the bottom and white on top.
Thought? I know everything will be dated eventually but is this a particularly bad choice? |

Op here, the more I’m looking at it, I realize I don’t love the ones like I described. I DO like when the ISLAND is a contrasting color Like a darker blue or gray.
So I’m about to post a different question in a new post… |
| I don’t like it because in most layouts it cut the room in half. It also makes the ceiling seem lower. I think it looks nice on an island but the countertop needs to be a light color. |
Op here - yes! All of this exactly. I realized without the island it looks cut in half. Like the couple couldn’t agree on a color so one partner chose the lower cabinets and the other the upper. And I also like light counters for the dark islands. |
| I like white cabinets with a rich wood toned island. |
