TJ only publishes high and low GPA for each class.

Just try to get above a 4.5 with nothing below an A- and you should be fine.

Look at Naviance for VT or UVA, where everyone from TJ applies to.

That will give you a good idea of the average and top 10% GPA ( which is around 4.4+)

Email the counselor. They have this info.

The top from 2022 seems to be 4.726!!!!! Does Naviance show the GPA from end of Junior year?

They NEVER tell this information.

Counselors dont like to see struggling students returning to base school, and their approach is to have the lowest-performing students accept their low GPA as normal, and have them not overly stress about it. Sharing GPA distribution information with these students would demoralize them by highlighting their position at the bottom of the class. On the other hand, providing GPA distribution to high achievers would intensify competition to reach the top tier, widening the achievement gap further between the highest and lowest performers.

The coddling of the american mind.

Meanwhile in other countries they rank order students so you know your exact class rank.

The GPA on naviance is the end of senior year which are usually higher than cumulative GPA at end of junior year due to more +1 classes.
