I'd rather be depressed than fat, truly. But I'm struggling right now and considering an antidepressant. My doctor prescribed lexapro, but I haven't picked it up yet. The side effects I'm reading about concern me, especially weight gain. |
I’m on very low dose Zoloft and I take it at night. I’ve lost a few pounds from sleeping instead of snacking at night.
Lexapro was too rough on my body. |
I take bupropion (Wellbutrin) and have lost a significant amount of weight while on it. |
Read this book. It's life-changing https://www.amazon.com/Brain-Energy-Revolutionary-Understanding-Health/dp/1637741588 |
I started antidepressants (an SNRI) at 135 pounds. I've been on them for years. I'm now obese and fighting the weight gain with Wegovy and it has all been very, very rough. It was definitely the meds. YMMV. |
Get off the ssris and get sunlight. RFK will guide you |
I have tried at least 7 different SSRIs/SNRIs. They have all made me gain significant weight (about 30 lbs). Even when exercising and watching what I eat. I don't know if they lower metabolism or increase hunger. I have also taken wellbutrin which made me lose a significant amount of weight but also makes me a bit shaky. However, I need an antidepressant to function, so I am living with the weight gain. |
I know you are being rude but getting a lot of sunlight is essential for mental and body health |
Gained |
Gained but I'd rather gain than feel hopeless and stuck. |
+1 |
10 lbs. I’d rather be depressed than fat too so I weaned off them. |
It has speed effects. |
I’d rather be fat than depressed you people are sick |
Gained 35 pounds in three years on citalopram but am no longer depressed to the brink of ending my life. Tried bupropion and fluoxetine but they didn't work for me. |
