My kid submitted most of her applications by the 11-1 day for EA but got all A's 1Q Senior Year. Does that count at all?

Depends on if your schools require 1st semester grades? You can check on the portal.

If a school wants first quarter grades, will it pop up in the portal?

The portals all have a supplemental upload area and pull down topic with first quarter grades. They may not see it in time but clearly will consider if the timing of the read is right. Even DeanJ has said numerous times “we’ve never said you can’t use the portal for first quarter grades”. If it is going to make your application more competitive it can’t hurt, only help.

My kid’s ED college application portal says “first quarter grades missing” but the application never stipulated they were required and there is only a “misc” link where they could (maybe?) be submitted. I told DC to ask their guidance counselor if they have a mechanism to submit.
