Contemplating a move out there from Fairfax county. Kids are in FCPS right now and classes are huge, academics and sports are uber competitive. Looking to slow down a little and decrease stress for my kids. We work from home so no commute. What are Auburn middle and Kettle Run high school like? Is it a welcoming and nice community? Any bullying? How are academics? Thanks in advance. |
not that great its Fauquier county
https://www.usnews.com/education/best-high-schools/virginia/districts/fauquier-county-public-schools-110035 we are thinking about moving but might just do a smaller religious private school even though we aren't religious, it just sucks we are throwing away our taxes. I heard trump might help w/ private school vouchers piggybacking off of the 10k thing for homeschooling https://catholicvote.org/trump-promises-homeschooling-parents-tax-relief-for-education-costs/ |
The schools out here are fine. Kettle Run is the strongest of the county’s 3 high schools. We’ve found the community very welcoming, my kids love it here. Academically it’s as hard as you want to make it, but it is definitely missing that hyper competitive element of the schools closer in. We also don’t have the overcrowding issue that the districts closer in have which has been the difference my kids have felt the most, in a good way. |
I have heard good things about schools and living out there. Good luck! |
