Home ES has group music fun classes from outside provider from learnnowmusic.org like $89/month for 7 payments, total $623 for 12/16/24 - 6/2/25 after school inc. rental musical instruments once a week. Anyone know if they are good or not for beginner if your kids have taken their classes?
I will take other better recommendation if you know any places that are good to learn musical instrument as beginner in montgomery county. Thank you. |
| Please use Google to search for music classes in the county or nearby depending on where you live and your budget. The companies offered by school can be good or bad (teacher didnt show up type of thing). If you need childcare, it should be fine for your kid to hang out for this program. |
| We're both trained musicians. We didn't find these classes helpful or engaging for DC at all. For guitar in popular style, School of Rock is much better. For violin, cello, or piano, you need to find a high-quality private teacher, not a class. For wind instruments, you can start with the little classes at your MCPS school if they have an instrumental music option (ours does) and then add private lessons as soon as DC is ready. |

Horrible. We did it years ago. They had 40+ kids in the same room with multiple instruments and the teachers didn't play the instruments. Go with a private instructor in their home or that comes to you.
No School of Rock either. They don't get great instructors and the great ones leave quickly. |
| Have heard negative reviews from another parent their mid did it after school at the school |
| If you search on the camps and activities forum you will see that they get very poor reviews. I've never heard anything good about them. |
| Parents who had kids do it at their element school said they did not enjoy the experience |
| Why do they use same vendor then? |
