I am in St Pete and I feel the same way. I know this was predicted to be an especially active year but come ON.
Do you think you will stay long term? I feel like it's not healthy for me mentally to worry this much.
I don't know. This hurricane season plus this election def have me thinking about moving. BUT: I love St Pete, I love our house, we're heading into the nicest time of year, I hate winter, and houses have gotten very expensive in the place where we'd thought about moving to.
What about you?
Also love my house, and winter weather is impossible to beat. Ideally I would love to get another house somewhere with no hurricanes and splitting our time, knowing that that other house can be our forever home base if the worst happens. Since we probably can't afford to do that, we will have to make some tough decisions and move permanently in the near future. There is a lot I will miss, but at some point the anxiety to me is just not worth it.
I am the St Pete pp and in the same situation. Ideally would love to split our time between here and somewhere else - alas, I have no trust fund. I guess the good thing is we don't have to decide today.
It looks like the storm is breaking up, so in a world of bad news at least we've got that little bit of something.
