| How likely is it that the club moves players up or down teams between fall and spring seasons? When does this actually happen/people find out? It's obvious the club's first team is eyeing a player or two from the second team (have them spend a week practicing up before coming to a game) and even sent their weakest player to the second team's last game. |
| Happens all year round for some clubs. |
|
There are usually 0-3 player moves between teams over winter break. There's also spontaneous players added over winter.
All normal. Each season your team can evolve. |
|
Very likely. No position is ever guaranteed.
Our top team has future players from second team that are starter and has more game time than the other players. |

I think it's pretty common. Last year on my DC's team a couple of kids were swapped between the first and second teams. This year the coach has already stated that some changes are going to be made before spring. We can all sort of guess who it will be.
When it happened last year the players being moved up/down were told, but there was no announcement made to the team. Everyone just kind of figured it out based on who showed up to which practice and when they saw the changes to the roster in the app. |
| It seems there are usually more mid season promotions than demotions. We’ve had 1 move up each year but no demotions until spring tryouts. And I have witnessed some families want to move their kid down mid season due to lack of playing time or financial demands of being on a top team. |
