Infertility Support and Discussion
I thought I'd found a good doctor on my own (couldn't find reviews on her, so I just went with what seemed to be a positive match, based on her bio). But, I was quite letdown--weak bedside manner, lack of patience and understanding, and just not sensitive or willing to counsel on what might be best for me. I know experiences will differ, but I'd feel much more comfortable going to someone who has received great (hopefully excellent) feedback. I'm in Mont. County, willing to commute a bit further (e.g., northern VA), but ideally would like to find a doctor not too far away. I've been trying to read physician reviews here or there, but getting first-hand input is always invaluable. Thanks everyone.
Malcom DeSouza is great...he's in Embassy Row, a little past American Univversity...I've liked him as my Dr.
Thanks much ... I hope others can also share their recommendations, too ...
Dr. William Cooper. He is wonderful and has an office in Chevy Chase.

Thanks too, PP... It's wonderful to have more options, and especially since doctors do get booked up long in advance ...

Women to Women OB/GYN in Arlington.
I've only seen my Dr. once but really liked her. Dr. Gaba with GW MFA. She is really nice, down to earth and friendly. I didn't have a ton of questions at my first appointment, but I felt like she was willing to talk if I needed to. The only thing that some people might not like is that the doctors at GW generally have residents working with them-which was the case with mine. But I actually didn't mind it. New doctors need training too, so if they can learn from someone who is really good, then we'll have more good doctors in the future I also happen to like the resident that was working with Dr. Gaba-very sweet young woman.

Prob out of your way but LOVE Dr Siegel at Physicians for Women
Dr. Sue Lashari and Dr. Elliot at Arlington hospital are both wonderful.
Lashgari and Elliott are the best in Arlington, loved them both.
another vote for dr. desouza!! a NO vote for dr. bridges, unless you want a c-section.
|
Dr. Robert Footer on New Mexico Ave. near AU--solo practitioner who shares call with Dr. DeSouza. If you are willing to consider a midwife I have also heard good things about Midwifery Care Associates in N. Bethesda.
OP here ... Thanks everyone, these are great to read. For convenience, it does help to have a nearer physician, but I definitely appreciate having these recommendations

A wonderful doctor is Dr. Heather Johnson (at Reiter, Hill, Johnson & Nevin). She used to see patients in both DC and Chevy Chase - she probably still does. They have an office in Falls Church (VA) too. The practice is big, which sometimes can be a bit frustrating, but she is really great.

Maddox and Silas, both practice at CWC in Fairfax. Office is right off 495 (exit 50), at corner of Route 50 and Gallows, about 10-15 minutes from Bethesda.
But even though you're willing to schlep out to NoVA for an OB, consider where you want to give birth. CWC in Fairfax only delivers at INOVA Fairfax and INOVA Fair Oaks. |
