| My 12 year old DD plays soccer 3-6 days a week. Her shin guards smell terrible! Someone told me freezing them reduces odor but for various reasons that’s an unappealing solution. I am assuming something line bleach wipes might break down the plastic. Do you just spot clean with soap and water? Something else? Thanks! |
| It has never occurred to me to wash shin guards. My kid plays 2-4 times a week in the spring and twice a week in the fall and has had hers 3 years. |
| I have no idea, op. The smell is overwhelming. We keep large plastic ziplock bags in the car and she takes them off before she gets in so at least my drive is bearable. They are stored in a box on our porch where they air out. |
| Wash them!! Why wouldn’t you wash them?? |
| Dish soap and an old sponge. My DD has had the same pair FOREVER and refuses to get new ones. |
| Throw them in the wash! My kid plays hockey and I put everything in the wash on hot. |
| My kid wear the slip on kind with the stretch fabric that goes around the leg. They dont stink and he is a smelly teen. |
What do you with other stuff that gets dirty and smelly? Why would you be afraid to wash them with soap and water? When did society lose common sense? |
|
Washing machine in and net and air dry once a season.
|
| Why wouldn't you put them in the freezer? That's what I do with my smelly shoes and it works. |
| Buy 2-3 pair and wash them regularly (as needed) in the washing machine. Air dry. Done. |
WASH THEM. WASH YOUR SMELLY SHOES. |
| Rotate multiple pairs or just buy new ones. |
Seriously that’s disgusting. My kids smell awful and get washed often! Yuck |
This! Dish soap and an old sponge. I also use disinfecting wipes on them regularly. Whatever works!! |
