ovulating after clomid

Anonymous
I am about to take my first of 6 days of clomid (my doctor has me taking one extra pill just in case). This is the first time I'm taking it. Does anyone have experience with when you typically ovulate after clomid? Should we not have sex while taking the clomid and start once I have finished the persciption? Does clomid delay ovulation at all? Can you share your experiences, side effects, and any advice?

Thanks so much for your help!!

I took it days 3-7 and didn't ovulate until day 19. I didn't experience any side effects, but others I know had PMS-like mood swings.

Hot flashes. Everytime. They get better by week 3. I have late ovulation on clomid too, day 20. You didn't say if you are being monitored. If so they can tell you when you look ready to ovulate. If not, stick to a plan to BD every other day starting around 3 days post clomid. BD until you are certain your temp has spiked for ovulation or if you aren't temping BD to the end of your cycle. I did 3 unmonitored months on clomid going by my gyn's advice that I would ovulate around day 12. We would BD days 10-17. Turns out I wasn't hitting the mark bc I wasn't ovulating until day 20+. So to be safe, keep BDing until you are sure you ovulated.

I have PCOS and ovulated on day 17 with my first round of Clomid (50mg for 5 days). We were not monitored and just had sex every other day. Good luck!

Keep those swimmers fresh! Have sex every other day and lay down for a while afterwards.

I too just finished taking my first dose of Clomid. Wish us both luck!

FWIW: I haven't had any side effects that I am aware of. Again, this is my first cycle, but I am glad!!!

OP here. I am now on day 17 of my cycle. We started having sex every other day - the day after the last pill. I am not being monitored but going in to get checked out on day 22 of my cycle. I have been having some major headaches the past couple of days - not sure if its the clomid though since I stopped taking it 8 days ago.
