s/o non-news podcasts

S/o the other (very appreciated) thread about non-political websites to enjoy while the world burns for the next four years - does anyone have any good podcasts to recommend? For almost a decade now I've listened to about two hours of political podcasts per day and at this point I just need to disengage.

I'll take any recs you've got so long as it'll take my mind off reality. I guess especially some good true crime, tv (I like the Ringer podcasts - used to really like Vulture's TV podcast before they canceled it), and I don't even know what else; I've listened to so many political podcasts and so little else I'm not even really sure what else is out there. I think I am not interested in celebrity podcasts.

Thanks!

Family Trips with the Meyers Brothers is one of my favorites. They’re celebrity interviews, but all centered around memories of family vacations from when they were kids.

Food podcasts - Spilled Milk and A Hotdog is a Sandwich are two of my favorites.

Little Miss Recap has very funny murder deep dives. Lots on the free feed but most are on the Patreon level.

Fixing Famous People talks about celebrities and current events. Hilarious!!!

Popapologists do very interesting crime and celebrity deep dives.

Still Watching is a Vanity Fair TV podcast that is great, as is Little Gold Men (movies).

I also love Who Weekly which is just absolute nonsense, they talk about D list celebrities you’ve never heard of (that’s the point) and it’s very funny and entertaining.

If you like British humor, Parenting Hell is quite funny.

Mayim Bialik
Trevor Noah (some are political and some aren't)
Lupita N'yongo (sp?)

Normal Gossip is a funny, light hearted one. Its just storytelling, on a piece of "gossip". I just listened to a retelling of a drama in a Cat Warriors fan fiction group from 15 years ago. Random stories like that. It's pretty funny.

Bump — need more podcast suggestions, please! Looking for great, captivating stories to distract from the current shitshow that is this new administration. I love Thus American Life, S-Town, Serial, so stuff like that would be great!

Hysterical is really good. It was on several best podcasts of the year lists. It’s about a town where several girls developed a mysterious tic overnight

Which Ringer podcasts have you listened to? The Rewatchables is great and 60 Songs That Explain the 90s is probably my favorite podcast ever.

I'm enjoying the Who Killed JFK podcast with Rob Reiner.

Doesn't sound like this is what OP is looking for, but in case anyone else is interested in science/medicine, I'm also enjoying Fat Science with Dr. Emily Cooper.

The Rest is History is my favorite.
Also: Empire, In our Time, Conversations with Tyler, Econtalk, Conan O’Brien needs a friend.

Find an interest area and search those terms. For example, I was thinking about taking a cruise so I found several podcasts that give cruise news or reviews. Another example, decluttering. I wanted to work on that and found four or five I was interested in that were creating new content regularly.

I have many political ones in my library and I'm taking a break from those.

I listen to Apple News Today and NYT The Headlines. Both are usually less than 15 minute summaries of the day's stories.

I used to really like Vulture's TV podcast before they canceled it

I didn’t know that went away, bummer.

If you enjoyed that you might like a good recap podcast of one of your favorite TV shows. Some good ones (YMMV depending on whether you liked these shows, obviously): Talking Sopranos; They Coined It (Mad Men); Again With This (90210, Melrose, Dawson’s Creek); Sex & the Cidiots (SATC and And Just Like That)
