MD 6th District Still Close!

Yes, I know the 6th district includes all of western Maryland, but I’m still surprised by the results. Did we know this was going to be so close? I didn’t think Parrott was a serious candidate.

It's a gerrymandered district that was assembled by the Democrats to squeeze out one more seat in the House. I guess they couldn't quite stretch the district to include Takoma Park.

Generally, Republicans are much better at gerrymandering. Not sure why.

We need to stop playing around and just accept that only white males can win in certain districts.

Yes and no. The district was certainly redrawn for that purpose, but the boundary is pretty sensible. It basically starts in the west and goes far enough to the east to fill out the population.

Delaney wasn't a great candidate, but Parrott is a lunatic. I'm not surprised by the red wave in general, but this race surprised me. How is it this close?
