So the name of the Toyota Camry comes from the Japanese word kanmuri, which means "crown".
And of course Toyota sells a Crown. And the Corolla means the crown of petals around a flower!! A small amusement as I was car shopping — what are these made up names. We always had Hondas, so Pilot, Odyssey, Accord etc, real words somewhat reflective of the car (though I give CR-V some side eye in the name department). I was always meh about the Corolla name, but the flower petals is nice imagery. |
