Alexandria City Polling Places- Begging

Anonymous
So, like many people I voted in person today. George Washington Middle School by Braddock Rd Metro. Got in line and voted pretty quickly about 10 this am.

As I was leaving I had to run a literal gauntlet of kids lining the sidewalk selling donuts, cookies, etc for various causes. They seemed like noble causes, but when did voting turn into an oppurtunity to fund raise/beg? Is that even legal?

I dislike the politicos outside the polling places even more.

Yeah, no duh. But at least they are on topic. This was just straight up begging. It's gross. Theses parenst should be ashamed. What's next, setting up shop out side a church on Sunday morning?

Not begging at all. They are selling stuff. If you don’t want donuts just walk on.

This is not new. Pretty sure my district’s PTA did this when I was a kid. Maybe you just haven’t voted at a school before?

Typical liberal. Doesn’t want kids to earn their own way in life but rely on government handouts. Good on the kids.
