What new laptop should I buy for DD?

DD’s 2020 laptop needs a repair with replacement part that will cost about $500. At this point, I’m thinking it’s better to just buy a new laptop. DD is in 10th grade and uses this laptop every day at school (instead of the Chromebook) and at home, so I’d like to get a laptop that can get her well across the graduation finish line. We are a Mac family. I’m looking for very specific recommendations about which model to get. Her current one is a MacBook Air with a 13.3 inch screen.
