Why can’t dh pick up after himself? He’s such a disgusting slob

Anonymous
Ironically he will clean occasionally or make a bed so he thinks he does ‘everything’. Meanwhile, he’s a pig pen who leaves a trail of messes wherever he goes. Makes a sandwich? He’ll leave out several of the ingredients and there will be a smear of mustard on the cabinets. Leaves his shoes scattered in the hall. Leaves his toiletries on the sink instead of putting them back in the medicine cabinet.

How do I fix this? Or find a way to not hate him over this little stuff?

Did you not know this before marrying him?

Kind of agree with this. I dropped by DH's apartment without calling first a couple of times so I could see what it looks like when he doesn't have time to clean up before I come. Upon looking at his mess I decided I could live with it (a pile of mail on his desk, pile of clothes on a chair, common areas clean).

Your husband CAN pick up after himself. He chooses not to. What does he do when you don't clean up after him? Like, for a week?

Don’t buy a bigger place or nice stuff, piggy skin space cadets wreck everything. Like destroy anything white, upholstery, flooring, cabinets, clothes, leather, decorate pillows.

Get used to a life of constantly repairing things yourself, re-purchasing things destroyed, and hiding the good stuff for yourself.

And don’t have kids
