Harris “opportunity agenda for black men”

Anonymous
Looks fairly comprehensive except for not tackling the criminal justice system that disproportionately locks up and executes black men.

1) Providing 1 million loans that are fully forgivable to Black entrepreneurs and others to start a business.
(2) Championing education, training, and mentorship programs that help Black men get good-paying jobs in high-demand industries and lead their communities, including pathways to become teachers.
(3) Supporting a regulatory framework for cryptocurrency and other digital assets so Black men who invest in and own these assets are protected.
(4) Launching a National Health Equity Initiative focused on Black Men that addresses sickle cell disease, diabetes, mental health, prostate cancer, and other health challenges that disproportionately impact them.
(5) Legalizing recreational marijuana and creating opportunities for Black Americans to succeed in this new industry.

Weed legalization is the dumbest mistake of all time. There are so, sooooo many impaired drivers now on the roads everywhere smoking constantly while driving. They're going to find a huuuuuge public health problem years from now after they realize how damaging it is to grow up while using weed chronically. Numerous studies are already showing how weed damages congnition, memory, and learning and basically makes people stupid. It's negative effects are magnified in younger brains. You're going to encourage generations of youth to grow up accepting chronic weed use and they're all going to be stupider, incapable of learning or holding concentration on a subject, and will have uncontrollable emotions.

And that's just weed, the rest of the agenda is just flat out racist.

Kind of like alcohol? Which is legal to consume, but regulated in how and when it is consumed?

How is #1 even legal?

Addressing the criminal justice system would result in less of the over representation of black men in jails - the same offenses that white men often get probation or community service for.

Horse manure. There are no tests police can do that can detect whether or not someone is imapired on weed while driving like they can for alcohol. Weed is more socially acceptable too than booze, and so many dubious studies out there try to tout it as some kind of miracle cure for anxiety, to cancer, to virtually every ailment under the sun. It is much more socially acceptable, stupidly, to drive around while smoking weed openly than it is to drink. Hell, half the blue states and county councils prevent police now from even pulling over cars if they simply suspect drivers are smoking weed, because they're too afraid of it disproportionately affecting certain minority groups. It's insane.

The amount of weed you smell all over city streets and on major highways/roads around here is nuts. And it isn't like it is Friday night either. So many people are addicted they're smoking up at 7 AM on a Tuesday morning before going to work and driving through a school zone.

The problem about the criminal justice angle and the poverty angle is Democrats come with the assumption that black people are all criminals or poor.

What about the black police officers and police chiefs? Many will be voting for Trump.

The biggest cause of black inner city crime and homicides is drugs, mainly drug dealing and all the drugs come from Mexico/ the border . Once El Chapo was arrested, Chicagos homicide rate dropped dramatically and so did opioid deaths in rural and inner city America.

Once Biden and Kamala opened the border back up, crime went back up. That’s no coincidence. Human, sex, and drug trafficking is all linked to the cartel sending drug mules to the country. That’s gone on for decades and Trump is the only president to care about the gangs, sex traffickers, and drug crime ruining America. This border problem was ignored by all former presidents

I disagree with people calling these measures racist.

Many of the proposals will help many people including black men (if enacted in good ways) - by improving education and mental health services.

I don’t use drugs and don’t love the smell of pot but there is evidence that legalizing pot helps reduce incarceration rates for blacks and whites. I can put up with the smell if it helps people to stay on better paths.

“The data supports that medicinal and recreational marijuana legalization decreases prison rates for Whites and Blacks, but not for Hispanics. Since the prison rate data was collected for all crimes, there could be another crime that increased Hispanic prison rates.”

Pew research shows that Clear majorities of Black Americans favor marijuana legalization, easing of criminal penalties. So if it helps their communities to have more families with parents not in jail for non violent offenses, then I can see the value.

Don’t really get the crypto measure.

The Silicon Valley venture capitalists Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz support Trump. Their firm Andreessen Horowitz has invested billions of dollars in cryptocurrency, moves that resulted in scrutiny of crypto by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

I read an anon donor gave big donation of crypto to Harris campaign - but how will Regulating crypto help black men? Preventing predatory crypto practices or just giving them more options in business?

Why should a black person get a loan that a similar white person cannot? How is that not racist? Why not target all low income people and then let all poor people get help rather than just a certain skin color?
