Anyone get stranger’s voter card in the mail?

Someone had a DC voter registration issued to our address. Never heard of a person and they definitely never lived here. Upper NW, not an address one would make up. Seems deliberate.

What could this be? Has it happened to anyone else? What should we do?

In the 2020 election I got a complete stranger’s mail in ballot. They didn’t misdeliver it, it had the right address but with the name of someone who never lived here .

Same here. Any reason you think this happened? Any consequences? We’ve been worried it’s to create a document trail/property fraud etc.

Just put it back in the mail with, “Return to sender, person not known at this address” written across the front. That way the agency will know that they sent it to the wrong address. Sometimes things are typed in incorrectly or names get put with the wrong addresses.

I’d send it back so there is a record of the mistake.

We keep getting the same one for the same person. We've lived in our house for 12 years. We keep sending it back, but we still get her voter and jury duty stuff.

We used to get letters from the IRS for a business name that we didn’t recognize, so we kept sending them back. Eventually they stopped coming to our address, so someone figured out that a mistake had been made.

No, there were 1600 voter registrations where the person left part of a form blank or checked a box saying they weren't a citizen. Many of them turned out to be citizens. Since the question was at the top of the form and the form was presented on a clipboard, some people didn't see the question because it was covered by the clip.

I'm convinced this happened all over the place in 2020, swinging the election to Biden (remember he won slim margins in multiple states), then combined with lax signature match/witness policies. Apartment complexes would be ripe if they mailed ballots to everyone on record there of the past 20 years, as you know several states mass mailed ballots to the entire voter roll. Of course it leaves "no evidence" for the "there's no evidence of voter fraud" crowd.
