DS is in MLSNext.
Whether there is a change to SY or not, we are unbothered and don’t think it’ll affect him. Am I missing something? |

Not missing anything. MLS Next already has bio banding which let's players play down.
Besically there's no reason for MLSN to switch from BY to SY. MLSN is the dominate league for boys and ECNL is 2nd tier. |

Will make it tricker for MLS Next to scout and develop teams for the younger ages but maybe this is why they added younger age groups via NAL. |

It won't make anything "trickier" than they are now. |

They will have to discount the performances of kids born in the back part of the year when creating their youngest MLS Next or pre MLS Next team. Ironically the same reason the national teams wanted all of youth soccer to go to calendar year. |

When a clubs top U12 team is based on SY but then they turn into an MLS Next U13 CY the next year but 5 months of kids from the U12 aren't eligible for the U13 the next year as they would be U14 CY players so maybe you check the U11 graduates for Aug-Dec born kids to fill out the U13 CY team, yeah, could be tricker. |
