I was driving the other day and a man was pushing a sort of cart with a baby in it right down the middle of the road. He even seemed to be having fun pushing it up the road on a hill then letting it roll back down towards him. The whole family took their time meandering up the road. God forbid that they get into glare and a motorist only sees them at the last minute.
I have always had a sense of awareness that the roads were for cars, and that I should do my best to keep off them. I see many people who feel entitled to walk and jog in the road. |

People park too far back in their driveways, into the apron. This blocks the path of the sidewalk so pedestrians are forced to divert into the street.
Anyone who reports or even just complains about these cars blocking the sidewalk wood be labeled a “Karen.” |

Ugh auto correct
WOULD be labeled a Karen… |
| Depends. No sidewalks in our neighborhood and people park on both sides of the street. |
| We have ample well maintained sidewalks all over our neighborhood and people still walk in the middle of the street. |
|
So?
Who the hell are YOU to tell him he can’t do that? |
| Ehh, we have no sidewalks so I really don’t care. What annoys me is when they don’t move at all. We have entire families that meander down the middle with strollers and bikes. It’s really annoying. |

Part of the problem are all the EVs that don't make any sound. Just drive up really close to them. They usually move out of the way.

| Live on a dead end street. Walking in middle of road helps calm/slow the speed of cars looking for a cut through. |
Years ago I was almost hit by an electric car while walking on a side street in D.C. The car was so quiet it startled me when I looked over and it was right there. I'm way more aware now. |
| I try to stay on the sidewalk but too many people don't trim their trees and shrubs. I'm not going to duck under that mess. |
He should tell himself he can’t do that. All it takes is one texting driver and he and his baby could be toast. |
So, you’d rather take your chances in the street where you could be struck, seriously injured, maimed and or killed. People who walk in the middle of the street like they have bumpers on their booties are stupid. |
| Lack of self awareness. Having AirPods in. |

NP.
All of my neighbors do this but they are immigrants from a specific region. I am 2nd gen from the same background so it stands out to me but I could not tell you why they do it! Even my mom has commented on it. Where my grandparents are from doesn’t really do sidewalks so maybe they don’t think about using them? Or maybe this is just a quirk of my neighbors? It makes me crazy this time of year because I’m terrified that they’ll stroll in front of my car or let the stroller roll in front of my driveway when I’m backing out. |
