Infertility Support and Discussion

I think I have a short luteal phase -- in my first ovulatory cycle post D&C (which was almost 3 months ago) I only had an 11 day luteal phase.
Should I talk to my ob/gyn or do I need to go directly to an RE? I am eager to get going...am 35 and with one easy conception and pregnancy under my belt, want to have #2 soon! Thanks. |
| My luteal phase is only 10 days and I talked to 4 RE's and none of them were concerned. I think "luteal phase defect" is a bit of a controversial diagnosis. Good luck (and sorry about the D&C). |

Since my first miscarriage my luteal phase has been 9-10 days. I don't know what it was before since I didn't chart or do anything, but I did get pregnant before. I also got pregnant after my 1st mc with luteal phases around 10 days long. I mc again but they don't know why, progesterone was fine, embryo was ok. Now on 3rd cycle after d&c and lo was 10 and 11 days, we'll see what happens next cycle.
Both ob and RE have told me it is not an issue |
| 11 days is a normal luteal phase. Shorter than 10 can be a problem, but 11 is normal. |
| My ob was similarly unfazed by my so-called 9-10 day lp. A few months ago, I started supplementing my prenatal vitamin with 200 mg (?) of b6, and now I have an 11 or 12 day lp. However, i started acupuncture at the same time, so the longer phase might be a result of that and not the b6. |
| I had the same issue and daily B6 worked for me. |
| For those who took B6 and it worked, how much did you take? |
100 mg daily |

OP here. I've done some research on B6. I took 50 mcg for a month and just upped it to 100mcg as part of a B complex. Apparently it is best to take a B complex and to take it with a prenatal (at the same time) as you need B12 to fully utilize the B6 or something like that...
It gives you neon yellow pee, just fyi....

| I took prometrium twice a day and it helped lengthen my cycle. |
