What shoes for corporate/law jobs?

I can't reliably wear heels over 1.5 inches
What do you wear? Links and pics appreciated.

Look no further than Clarks
https://www.clarks.com/en-us/womens-all-styles/womens-dress-shoes/w_dress_us-c

I spent YEARS ordering high end heels ($300-800 a pair) of various heights and either returning or donating them, to conclude that none are more comfortable than Clarks.

I like wearing loafers as a default -- https://www.samedelman.com/product/womens-loraine-bit-loafer-3016088/black-leather-ec0220790
(or Gucci Brixton on the higher end)

My office has gotten more casual so I also sometimes wear clean leather or suede sneakers like this with a dress or trousers + blazer -- https://www.adidas.com/us/samba-og-shoes/IE9122.html

Classic block heels for dressier days-- I keep shoes like this in various colors in the office and don't commute in them.

Chelsea boots for bad weather --

Don’t be a loser! Most of us can’t afford $900 shoes.
OP, I wear Oxford type shoes.

What kind of place are you working? Most legal settings are pretty relaxed in the office post pandemic.

You do not need high high heels. You need high quality shoes that you maintain well. No strappy shit. Shoes that look like you can get client off on a murder charge or SEC violation. Serious person shoes

Go to Comfort One Shoes (there's one in Alexandria) and try things on. They have dress shoes that look polished but that are still supportive and comfortable for professional women who are on their feet a lot.

These only work if you can tolerate a narrow toe box. Many people cannot.

I work in a law firm. I mostly wear New Balance sneakers, with jeans and a sweater. Never have to go to court, obviously.

When I worked pre-pandemic at a slightly more formal law firm I wore Born brown Mary Janes that were fairly hideous.

I live and work in a city and often walk about a mile to/from work, so would carry the Born shoes back and forth each day. (Not the kind of place you could leave shoes under your desk.)

These are so frumpy. Just wear some cute flats.

Love ferragamo generally but these were over saturated in the late 2000s twee era and are now 15 years out of style — I only see women 50+ still wearing them

Ferragamos are worth every penny. Why buy a pair of shoes that need to be replaced and instead buy a pair of shoes that will last for 10 years? Plus, if you are entering a corp law job, really nice shoes really do make you stand out. I only wear really nice shoes. I get a lot of them on the Real Real. People notice.

If you believe this, you haven't seen Ferragamo lately.
