Health and Medicine
I got them when I was pregnant. OB said it should go away after a while but 18 months pp and they're not even a bit smaller (if anything they're worse). Aside from feeling completely embarrassed and not wanting to have sex ever again, they're painful, messy and sometimes bleed and hurt. Has anyone had them surgically removed? Does insurance normally cover for it? Does the surgery last or do they eventually come back? Anything else I should know. I really think it would improve my quality of life if I had them removed.
Forget the OB and go to a colo-rectal surgeon. Most insurance will cover it, and they have medications (topical) that they'll try before they resort to surgery.
Thank you so much! I'll try to find one and see if I can get this taken care of.
Acupuncture is very effective, try it before surgery.
Really? Do you have a name for the acupuncturist? Does insurance cover that?

I would say if you're not done having babies, don't operate on them yet - you'll need to do it all over again.
I had grapes after my first child, so painful I couldn't sit for weeks and they lasted too. Salt water baths helped, avoiding meat in my diet, alcohol and too much caffiene. Eat lots of fruit and raw veg to make sure your digestion is working its best and keep a pack of wet wipes in your bag for trips to the bathroom. Also keep at it with the prepH pessaries and ointment, they do help a lot in the long term. |
