Which more squeamish: office pot luck or McDonalds

Anonymous
Both have been in the news making people sick, so quick poll.

People get sick in their own homes. I would think a potluck is more risky but I would eat either.

McDonald’s any day of the week.
It’s those dang raw onions in the quarter pounders, supposedly

Sorry, the potluck where they got STAPH is way worse.

People who misuse "squeamish"

Potluck for sure worse. It's in McDonald's best interest to keep their food safe. Plus, most of the stuff there is so fake and cooked that there isn't anything to make you sick. Except the onions, apparently.

I refuse to eat both. I would seriously rather starve to death.

I would eat 20 MD cheeseburgers before I would take one bite of any office potluck food.

I'd eat both without fear. Neither make people sick very often. I don't get onions on my burgers, but either way I'm not worried.

The potlucks are icky. People are not sanitary at their homes. Animal dander is flying around. Cat hair is on the counters and tops of refrigerators where they allow them to walk around. It’s all nasty.

I'll eat at both (depending on the coworkers) but I'd say the potluck is riskier. No one is inspecting home kitchens for cleanliness, nor training those cooking in them about food safety

After the pot luck we just had at my office, I'd choose McDonald's.

Not because of my concerns about food poisoning, but the pot luck food really sucked.

Turn out Mcdonalds was not the source of the sickness.

Mcdonalds. For sure haven't eaten there in 7 years but I'd never eat someones pot luck.

My office is relatively small with several foodies so our potlucks are awesome. 90%+ of the food is vegetarian and we have a decent kitchen for heating and refrigerating, including a small oven that people sign up for space in. All but one person with major food allergies eats well there (and that person said they wouldn't eat anyway if we tried to accommodate so not to bother).

I've definitely heard worse stories from friends working in restaurant kitchens (low to high end) than what most people have going on at their homes. I might feel different about a huge office where I didn't really know people.
