I keep getting these notifications from Canvas teacher X has commented on an assignment for my middle schooler. So I click the button and half the time I get the message:
classroom.mcpsmd.org took too long to respond But if I do get through, I get to the login for parentvue. So I login and I can't see anything except for the menu of documents/forms/grades etc. I click on MCPS classroom but it says I don't have the profile. I'm a newbie to MCPS and I keep waiting for the time when ParentVue/Canvas/MCPS Classroom will make sense and become easy for me to use, but I can't figure it out. Can someone please help me figure out how to see these comments on my kid's assignments? He says he can't see them either. |

ParentVue.Synergy only houses the grades. Canvas is where the actual assignments and course content (modules/syllabi live).
If you download the Canvas app or connect to Synery website from computer and click the Canvas link you’ll be able to see. |
| It's bonkers that MCPS has such a completely dysfunctional system. There is no reason why you should have to post on a message board to get parents to help you out with this. It should be intuitive, and easy, and it should take you about three seconds to get to the message. Complain to your school, it's not something they can fix but they need to be the ones advocating for the central office to fix this colossal dumpster fire of a system. |
There’s an app? |
I downloaded the Canvas app. It looks pretty similar to the main Parentvue website but on an app. I still don’t see the individual assignments I get notifications about |
| I use the Canvas app and log in using my kid’s credentials. The online site crashes a lot, but the app works much better. |

Yes there is an app for both ParentVue and Canvas.
