| DC seems to be struggling in the class and actually asked for a tutor, which is surprising. Any recommendations? |
| Check with your school. It is likely other families have used tutors that they can recommend. Does your school have a PTA? Can you ask fellow parents that way? |
|
At least at our school the English honors society tutors at lunch. Although they are just high schoolers, they are motivated and helpful…and free! Ask at your school.
Also, teachers are happy to help during their assigned help period. Make sure your child reaches out! |
| How much do you want to spend? If you look at Princeton Review they have a range of options, from homework help to "guaranteed 5 in the exam or your money back". I highly recommend them. Both my kids got all 5's in their AP exams in 11th grade |
Don't they typically have students who are in an AP Lit level tutoring students in lower grades? So where would AP Lit students find a tutor at school? |
I'll give you guaranteed 5 or your money back, too. |
Sure but you're not one of the professionals who WRITE the AP exam questions |
| Did you find someone? |
| Try Pen on Paper. Founder who is also a tutor is fab. |
| Pen on Paper Learning. |
| Form study groups! |
NP. I just looked- they charge $6000 ($250/hr x 24 tutoring hrs) for score a 5 guaranteed. |
| It can be outrageous, as PP said try to study with other peers those who are taking the test. |
