I have a 9th grader at a HS but we aren't feeling like it is suitable for her
(For context she was in private school from 6-8, but wasn't made aware of any of the MCPS programs she could've applied to / qualified for) The classes aren't as challenging, but going back to private HS will cost an arm and a leg. Are there any full-time programs for 10th graders? Or should we just stick to her current school? |

She could stick with it and start loading up on AP and or IB classes if they are offered.
Is she enjoying school otherwise? Friends? Activities? |

There are many programs. The deadline to apply is this Friday 11/1:

She's enjoying school, and is even on student council. IB classes aren't offered, but she plans on taking 2 APS 10th grade. |
| My daughter had a similar situation and switched to early college junior year. It has been really good for her and it is free. |
So who is the “we” who finds it unsuitable? Meddling mom? Is there a certain boy or girl you are trying to keep her from? |
None of those are for a private school mom who thinks her daughter is too good for public school. |
That should help. AP classes are pretty much the only challenging ones. |

I’m sorry you missed the boat but if your kid was in private school how do you anticipate that she be “made aware” of programs?! |
