Softball Pitching Coach in MoCo

Wondering if anyone has a reference for a softball pitching coach in MoCo (ideally the Silver Spring/Kensington/Takoma Park area, but we’ll travel if the scheduling works). My daughter isn’t new to softball but just started pitching during fall ball this year and wants to get better. As her mom and a catcher, I just want her to learn how to do this with a form that isn’t going to destroy her shoulder and arm if she keeps with it. She’s only 8, so we’re looking for someone that can work with younger kids who are still even just learning to get the ball across the plate.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Courtney Wyche? She's right in that area, but not sure if she works with 8 year olds. Are they doing fast pitch at that point, or still slow pitch? Courtney has a club she started -- she's a local girl that pitched for UMD and graduated this year.

Also another idea is to just ask at the local high schools and see if one of the varsity pitchers wants to earn some extra money coaching a little kid. My daughter did that for girls that age when she was in HS. We've done that with my kids in other sports and they respond really well to HS kids as both a coach and a mentor. The HS kids are usually thrilled with the spending money and the opportunity to be a mentor (and put it on their college apps). By MS, you probably want a more professional pitching coach, but at 8, I bet a HS girl would be good enough.

I reached out to the coach at the college near us (we're in VA) who is responsible for youth outreach/outreach to the community leagues and she connected us to one of the college pitchers for lessons for my daughter. Apparently many of the collegiate players give lessons at school facilities.

It's been awesome. Less expensive than going to a facility, great role model, and the girls really know their stuff.
