| Are most Gonzaga kids country club kids? |
| No |
| Someone literally just posted on the other thread about girl schools that their country club is "full" of Visi and Gonzaga boys. So yes, Gonzaga is mostly country club parents. |
| yes, and there is nothing wrong with country clubs |
| More than SJC, but less than GP. |
There are a few country clubs, like Columbia, that have a lot of Gonzaga alums/families. But this is not the majority of Gonzaga families. There’s a large contingent of Virginia families at the school that are not CC members. But, if you are in NW DC or Bethesda, I can see why you might think that everyone belongs to Columbia, Bethesda or Congressional. |
Gonzaga has 1000 boys. The zip code from which the most boys come is 22207 (Washington Golf). There's definitely a group of families that belong to that club and other clubs. But it's absolutely not the prevailing vibe of Gonzaga. We've been there 5 years and I know that it's too big and diverse (and yes, I know this board gets on Gonzaga for not being diverse enough) to say it's anywhere close to mostly country club kids. |
True. They are such welcoming places, friendly to all. |

Is it?? If so, that's traditionally a big change. When my 50-something brother was in HS it was primarily DC & MD families (back in the 80s). I do see a ton of GZ stickers in Arlington & Alexandria. In the early 2000s there were a lot of young families moving out of DC to close-in VA so makes sense. Plus, the commute is quicker from some VA zips than actual DC zip codes. |

I know 5 Gonzaga families in my Alexandria neighborhood well and none of them are country club members. |

35% of Gonzaga students receive financial aid.
Of all of my 3 boys’ friends, I don’t know of a single country club family (and I doubt any of the receive financial aid). |
| If Westwood is considered a “country club” then we know 1 country club family at Gonzaga. |
| We live in North Arlington, and all of the Gonzaga kids We know (6+… Play sports with our kids ) are families who belong to Washington golf. |
