| What are some of the field trips your kids have gone to in early elementary school (k-2)? |
| The usual ones- zoo, pumpkin farm, various museums, symphony, nature center. |
| My kindergartener last year only did in-school "field trips." Pretty lame. |
|
Ours did:
Strawberry picking Zoo Aquarium Strathmore Nature center |
|
Trolley Museum
kid Museum Zoo County recycling center |
| What school are your kids going to that they were able to take all these awesome field trips in kindergarten? |
|
Very very few with their ES. If lucky maybe 1 a year.
Science Center Strathmore HS play There have been some in-school assemblies or “field trips”. |
Oh, and that covers K-5. |
| Smithsonian museum forgot which one and coulhavr been for upper ES. |
| One cool "in house" field trip we did last year was with Potomac Pizza. They came and brought dough and supplies and the kids made a pizza to take home and bake. I was impressed because the leader really did teach them how flatten out the dough properly and roll on the sauce. He even made them fold their own pizza boxes. It was very engaging and the kids loved it. |
| I felt like they went to the science center in Baltimore like every darned year. It got old. |
| Is the old trolley museum still operating? |
|
Strathmore Music Center
The Smithsonian Zoo Some random pumpkin patch close to the school Just your typical school trip thats meant to get the kids engaged, as long as you can perfectly handle it. |
| An in-school assembly (so a field trip of some type) at a Jewish school of MCPs (there could be several ES that can be labeled this) had folk dancing led by one of their school staff member. It was different for non-Jewish students and something they wouldn't come across in their own communities. |
