Handbag sizes through life stages

Is that a thing for you? As a mom of smaller kids I had big totes, then when they were out of the water/snacks and toys stage I carried a small crossbody, as tiny as possible. Now as I am getting older I find myself wanting bigger bags again. I need reading glasses, like to have tissues, a brush, hand sanitizer...The crossbodies are feeling too small.

I've always had small bags because I'm petite and hate the way large bags weigh me down.

I’m ADHD And no longer carry a bag at all. When I did it was so disorganized and full of junk

Actually, a lot of the women I know who only have themselves to worry about now have empty nester purses--just tiny little crossbodies big enough for keys, cards and a phone.

I hated the diaper bag so much.

Now I actually carry nothing 99% of the time. I have a couple cards in my phone case and a key in my pocket.

Above 50 and now carry the smallest possible bag. Keys, phone, card case as wallet and lipstick.

I still rotate through my handbags regularly. Most I've owned now for years and years and were purchased overseas. I've only added the Lindy and the Jypsiere recently.

Birkin 35 Retourne is my giant tote--it's been usefull from baby and toddler phase and it's a good travel tote.

Birkin 28 Sellier is nice for when I have to do a business lunch/appointment and need to carry a notebook with me.

Kelly 28s are great every day bags. Mine are Retourne so a little more casual than the B28 Sellier.

Lindy 26 is cute, it's my little dumpling bag.

Jypsiere 28 is fun and very different, not sure if I love it. It's better looking than the Evelyne IMO, but it's heavy.

For evening dinners/events I either carry Kelly Pouchette in black croc or a Chanel 11.12, or a fun clutch.

my kids are teenagers now and I am back to the small crossbody or small shoulder bag. I definitely used the totes when they were younger but don't need them anymore!

Yes, as a petite it's always small bags, even when the kids were little but past the diaper bag stage. I have a tote for sports sidelines because we're there all day, but otherwise sorry kids you don't have a mom who brings snacks.

I've never had kids but I've always used pretty big bags. I used to always carry a book with me - now it's water, a little sweater, my prescription sunglasses, etc etc. If I don't need all those things I just use my pockets.
