Why am I seeing so many recalls due to listeria ?

Food quality is down

This is interesting to me. I had been feeling like super-processed foods were probably safer in terms of listeria/e coli etc., since there's nothing real in them anyway! But frozen waffles? McDonalds? Guess I was way off.

I'm glad they are doing a better job catching these outbreaks. I hope it starts to make companies more careful about their processes, since it will affect their bottom line earnings.

It's not helping my food anxiety though.

I think ready to eat meat is just not easy.

Buy raw, assume it’s contaminated with SOMETHING, so use good hygiene and cook.

I agree with this, but it is hard to find the time to do this all the time.

You can buy precooked meat and zap it on the microwave

How hot does it have to get? Because I see people recommend this, but I think if you get it hot enough to kill bacteria, it will be like shoe leather or rubbery.
