I just got a city email that the former Dawson’s Space in town center will become a Trader Joe’s.
This is very exciting for those of us that live TJ’s. Not sure if one of the others is closing or not but fyi….. |
| How many supermarkets can Rockville handle. ? with Wegmans coming soon. |
| The parking lot looks horrifically bad. Your story checks out. |
| Hopefully it will RTS a boost. I was there last weekend and there are a lot of empty storefronts. That area has always been cursed when it comes to retail. |
lol right ( OP) |
I agree with you but Dawson’s got a lot of foot traffic. I’m guessing they’re hoping for the same. |
| +1 on yay for TJ at RTS and boo on the parking. Why does every TJ have horrible parking? |
Oh goodie, the hipster 7-11 is expanding. Or something. Shrug. |
| Odd since there’s another one so close by |
Oh goodie, the Trader Joe’s hater is back! Now you can continue your miserable ranting and perpetuate all the negativity. I hope you have sweet dreams tonight. |
Because they are incredibly popular and need to maximize number of parking spots. |
Where are you seeing this? I am in Rockville and have heard rumors, but nothing in writing. |
|
Wait, is this for real? I had heard maybe Aldi, maybe Trader Joe’s, but nothing firm. It does seem like there are already two Trader Joe’s stores fairly close.
It would be amazing for me if true, though. |
+1 it would be great for those living around RTC. I love TJ. We go every week. Parking will be hellish, though. IMO, it will be a lot more popular than Dawsons, which clearly didn't get enough foot traffic to stay afloat. I think it would be better than Aldi's, too. Their stuff is cheap, but not great quality. |
| It will brig alot more people to RTC,,,but make parking more limited for other businesses. I live closer to RTC but can imagine I would still go to Darnestown Rd, |
