Any good places to visit for 3 year anniversary near Philadelphia

Anonymous
I am planning a romantic & peaceful get away for me & my wife (nothing too expensive). Planning to leave Saturday after 5PM comeback Monday evening or Tuesday afternoon. Anyone knows any good places we can go to visit? Not really want to visit big malls and stuffs. Because then we probably end up shopping which is something we all the time, also could be expensive.

Note: We did went to Poconos early this year. Staying NY, even in a mediocre hotel could be expensive. Anyway let me know your idea. Really apricate it. I really need to plan something to impress my wife.

An inexpensive hotel near Philadelphia is unlikely to impress your wife. I'm not sure what you are asking.

Poconos hotel were not that expensive. Anything below 150 per day is good.

Wait THIS Saturday? As in TOMORROW? Good grief. Your wife is going to see right through this.

Maybe somewhere outside of Wilmington DE - go to Longwood Gardens and then eat at Bardea/Bardea Steak in Wilmington?

Chadds Ford has some nice wineries with inns. It's rural and you can visit Longwood Gardens and Kennett Square. Not too far from Philadelphia.

Or you could go to a bed and breakfast in Cape May/Wildwood/Ocean City.

Since it is sort of coldish weather, I am not sure about the beach area.
Anything interesting in Lancaster?
Or what about Canada? It is a long drive about 7 hours. Might not be a good idea

Hopefully, I can pull off something. Handling works & house works has been crazy. Plus my brother just got divorced, I was helping him as well.

Came here to suggest this. I had a lovely long weekend at the Fairville Inn in Chadds Ford, but there are several nice inns nearby. Beautiful countryside, several nice restaurants around, right near the Delaware border so you could explore bits of both states, Longwood Gardens, etc.
