Three meals in Charleston

Anonymous
I have three meals in Charleston for getaway weekend with DW. I am looking for barbecue place, a brunch place, and then the one-dinner-out place. Any recommendations? I've done the research online but there are so many great options ...

Fancy or no?

We like Poogins Porch for brunch
We like fleets landing for lunch

BBQ- Rodney Scotts. It is not a fancy place- but the best we've had in Charleston.

Magnolia for dinner

Fig for dinner if you can get a reservation. If not then Magnolia. Had dinner at both recently.

DO NOT do Poogan's Porch... very mediocre.

I like John Lewis better, but it's a different type of barbecue.

Yes, John Lewis is Texas style, which is not what I personally would look for in Charleston.

Agree. There's so much good food in Charleston, Poogan's Porch is extremely underwhelming.

I really like Callies Hot Little Biscuit for breakfast.

Umm... yes, that's what I said. But it is still better than Rodney Scott.

Bubba Gumps is a good call. Best shrimps I’ve ever had.

Not sure about BBQ. For brunch, we loved Leon's and for dinner 167 Raw was excellent. Melfi's is also a great option.
