| This happened literally overnight! Our bathroom fan broke a few days ago and they are coming to replace it next week. We’ve been trying other methods for circulation but apparently have failed because today there were all of these mildew spots near the ceiling on the walls! I wiped them down and they came off, but left behind a lighter stain that won’t budge. Semi-gloss paint. Is a diluted bleach scrub the best thing? Help! |
| Mix bleach with water and spray. Wipe down with wet clean sponge. You should be fine. |
| I’ve heard you shouldn’t use bleach to clean mold or mildew |
Then you heard wrong. Of course you can and should use bleach (1 to 3 ratio bleach to water) Some will say it shouldn’t be used certain surfaces because it doesn’t absorb into it but this is a semigloss painted surface OP will be absolutely fine. |
| OMG. Look up older mold threads. Go to the Valor Mold website (not affiliated) - they have a lot of free resources |
| Spray Tilex. The smell is very strong so be careful. |
| Vinegar is safer. |

Terrible terrible advice
The reason you’re seeing it on the wall and you wipe it and it comes back are the probably many many many spores that are in the air from the mold infestation you have somewhere |
So what do you do |
