Can you put raw chicken in the fridge?

For how long? And where do you put it?

Where have you been putting your raw chicken after purchasing it?
Anonymous
WTF? Of course you put it in the fridge. Where else would you put it?
Anonymous
No. Definitely keep it in the pantry.

I feel like there is something missing from this question lol. Like....wrap it in something or put it in a bag or container. Put it on a plate so if it leaks it doesn't go directly on the fridge surface.

Leave it sitting on the counter for a couple days. When it begins to acquire an odor you know it’s seasoned properly and ready to cook.

no, i prefer to store my raw chicken in the pantry. raw chicken is safest at 68 degrees and above.

+1 you don't want it contaminating perishables

Just keep it in your car with the windows rolled up.

I let my chickens run around naked in my yard. I’d never put them in the fridge. Weird.

OP you can put it in the freezer too until ready to cook.

Our chef does this in one of our basement fridges. He seasons it or something the day before he cooks it.

Do you think OP was joking to see how DCUM would reply?
