When do you read?

Thought it would be fun to see when other book lovers get their reading in!

I'm a night owl, and I read every night from about 11:45 to 12:45. I read until I find myself re-reading the same paragraph multiple times and then I zonk out.

I pretty much don't read any other time, unless I'm on vacation.

Weekend: I carve out 1-2 hours and text my immediate family what hours I'm not available.
Most nights before bed: 10-30 min read.
Metro, on office days: 20 min ride.

I read a ton—will probably hit 150 books this year. I read on the metro to and from work (usually on my Kindle), listen to audiobooks while I walk the dog or in the car, sometimes read at work if it’s very slow and I’m waiting on something that prevents more work (rare and I honestly feel too distracted to really read more than a minute or two), and always at night before bed for an hour or so. Some weekends I get lucky and can read during the day without distractions.

In the bath.

After 9 pm and putting kids in bed.

When dinner is over, music goes on and it’s time to read. If I have house stuff to do, I’ll listen to an audiobook.

I listen to audiobooks on my commute, too.

I average 2-3 hours of reading per day.

From 10-11 most nights.

I almost always listen to an audiobook in the car. I used to have an hour commute each day and was flying thru books, but now my commute is much shorter.

I usually read during my lunch hour and then again before bed for about an hour.

Are you listening at lunch or reading? If reading, do you always have 2 books going?

As soon as I wake up while I drink my morning coffee usually for 20-30min. Same thing at bedtime until I fall asleep.

In pockets of the day when I have time. I don’t really watch tv so evening hours when other people are often watching a show I’m reading instead. Almost always toss my current book in my bag when I leave the house. That way if I’m sitting and waiting at school pick up for longer than expected I can read.

Similar to a PP I read over 100 books a year. No audio books.

At night before bed for 30-90 minutes (depending on whether the book is forcing me to read the next page...)

On the weekends when I have a pocket of time or at breakfast.

During my daughter's music lessons/sports practices, right before bed, throughout the day on weekends.

At night before bed.

At kid sport practices or any appointment where I am waiting.

Honestly, if it's a really good book - sometimes I wake up at 3am and read to try to fall asleep and then read until 5am. Did that last night. Don't recommend but it was a great book!

I live in a city and unless I'm going for a walk, I bring a book everywhere. So I'm reading at the subway stop, on the train, etc. Pre-pandemic I used to read in a conference room on my lunch hours but now I just read at home - sometimes when it's slow at "work" and often when I go to bed at night.

Audiobooks on walks, car rides, and during housework.

Regular books at bedtime and in the summer on the beach.

If I wake up during the night and can't fall back to sleep, I read then also.
