Wanted to see if this was helpful your child with some academic/organization struggles, but did not qualify for an IEP. What was the time used for in resource class? Did your child benefit? I'm wondering if the period could be used for my rising middle school student to do homework/study for quizzes..so they then have more bandwidth for after school tutoring.

It helped my HS kid by allowing time to do other work, as you said. They also have the kids check assignments in a structured approach , and check grades.
So it helps but it’s not as effective in organizing as an EF coach, which we also have.

Child never took it, but I know some teachers of the class specifically help students with study strategies, getting work done in an organized time efficient way. It helps the students out for the short term and teacher important skills for the long term.

In our school, only students with IEPs are able to take a resource class.
