I admit it…I am a hard-core thriller novel junkie.
I just completed reading ALL of Freida McFadden’s books & I am excited + anxious to find some new books in a similar genre if possible. Does anyone have any good suggestions?? I originally fell into the thriller genre years ago by reading “Gone Girl.” I have also loved reading anything by Ruth Ware, Shari Lapena and Mary Kubica as well. I am also a huge fan of John Grisham’s legal thrillers so if anyone can recommend a similar author that would be awesome too. Thank you in advance and happy reading! |

Have you read Michael Crichton? Some of his stuff is kind of dated now, but he is the king of the sci fi/tech thriller.
“Andromeda Strain,” “Timeline,” “Congo,” “Sphere,” and of course both “Jurassic Park” novels. |

Loved Gone Girl.
My favorite legal thriller ever: Defending Jacob. Favorite thriller: The Silent Patient |
| Karin Slaughter! |
| Liz Nugent. She's my favorite!!! |
Sorry those are both terrible. Rare one stars for me on both. I love Jennifer Hillier - Jar of Hearts is a good start, but Butcher is great too Or Jennifer McMahon - Winter People, and My Darling Girl - not OP, but another thriller junkie |
You mean, in your opinion. For what it's worth, both sold huge numbers and were hugely successful books. So, they weren't "terrible" for everyone. Admittedly, a pet peeve of mine is when people state their opinion as a definitive opinion. |

Hidden Pictures by Jason Rukulak
The September House by Carissa Olando |
|
God of the woods by Liz Moore.
I'm halfway through it and can't put it down. |
This one was great! I love most of Riley Sagar's books, love Karin Slaughter, Ruth Ware, Lisa Jewell |
I have been on the fence re: this one. And the thread dedicated to this book is not an endorsement. Given that you're loving it, I will be curious to hear what you think when you're done. |
| The Only One Left by Riley Sagar is my current favorite! |
|
Thank you everyone for the suggestions - I plan on checking each one out!
I actually have “The House Across The Lake” by Riley Sager that I received recently as a gift. OP Here |
| Note: since you like John Grisham he has a brand new book out yesterday on wrongful convictions which should be good. According to him, there are hundreds of innocent people incarcerated today. He is a board member of the NY Innocence Project. |
Hi! I love thrillers too. I just read THe House and it is very good. Have you read the Alex Cross series? |
