Accident on 270 10/22 - reasons to get a dashcam

Anonymous
This could of turned out really bad.

- Guy on motor cycle in far left service lane driving fast.
- Car following in service lane decides to take him over (can't really see that in the video), over corrected and looses control.
- Then hits driver next to him which cause that car to cross several lanes over.
- This car now makes contact with the Giant truck gas tank, and fuel can be seen pouring out.
- Thankfully I had just come on the highway else I might of got caught up in the carnage.

This was yesterday, video is muted due to adult &$&#$8

Totally insane behavior. I'm so glad I can avoid 270 by taking the MARC train.

Did you pull over to give the police your footage?

How is this reason to get a dash cam? What does this change for anyone, other than maybe insurance companies? Would they deny coverage because of what they see on another car's dash cam?

You’ll def want a dash cam after this:

I’ve been following this on IG. This civic was caught in another insurance scam of pulling in front of a car and slamming on brakes so driver behind hit them.

I know it's not new to have reckless driving, but it does seem post-Covid roads are particularly dangerous, combined with diminished police presence.

Is the video stored locally or in a service?

No time for that.

Why are you calling it a service lane? Is that the term? I thought it was the passing lane?

So you could have been very useful to the investigation, but you were too busy? The camera is only if something happens to you?

I was rushing to a meeting in Bethesda, but I did call the local precint 2 hours later afterwards. However the nice lady on the phone replied, that since a couple hours had passed, they (the cops) couldn't do anything with it. smh

It happened right in front of you and you didn't stop to make sure people were OK and give a statement to the police?
