Anyone knows what kind of admissions test is required by Holton Arms for lower school (3-4 graders)? Is it the SSAT or ISEE? Any tips on how to prepare/online resources?

Click "Report," ask for this to be moved to the Private & Independent School Forum, and you will get way better resources.
My kids took the ISEE and found the free test offered with registration at checkout + a book to be sufficient prep, but they already had tons of experience with online testing coming from public school. |
Look for workbooks or sample tests at the bookstore. Almost any kid will benefit from at least being very familiar with the kinds of questions which are asked on those tests. |
For 3rd and 4th, Holton holds private testing that you schedule through the application portal.
All the application requirements are here: https://www.holton-arms.edu/admission/apply/lower-school |
It's their own exam. My DD said it was not difficult. They do a reading comprehension assessment and then a math one. I don't think you can prep for it -- they really want to know your daughter's baseline abilities. |
Bump. What is the online test for 5/6 grade?! Is there any way to prep for it? |
Good grief. You don’t even have to strain yourself to Google, all the info is at the same admissions page linked above. In case even that is too difficult, here: “Applicants to Grades 5 and 6 will take a required online in-house test. This test will be administered virtually by Holton.” Good luck, seems like you’ll need it. |
Wow, rude! I’m literally asking what kind of in “in house” test it is. |
Some schools have moved away from the ISEE and now administrator their own test. So it might be that. |
