One of those days where it feels like no matter what I do I’m going to piss someone off. So to cheer myself up, let’s start a thread of your petty work grievances…
I’ll start. My petty grievance is when someone types “hello” into Teams without then following up with what they want. Can you just say “hey what time’s your office hours?” Instead of waiting for me to reply to “hello”? |
| Haha, we must have the same coworker! |
| There was like a 32 page thread on this two weeks ago on another forum. I think relationships forum. People who do this are destined for dud careers because you have to be a moron to think this is acceptable |

| Micromanagement. Being told what to do even though I've done it, in an exemplary fashion, for 10 years. |

I have a lot of pet peeves that would never have occurred to me before starting my current job. For the first few weeks I thought I was lucky to have landed my position but now I’m just counting down the days until I leave. Here are my top 2!
1. A coworker who thinks she is my supervisor when she is not. She has been emailing on the regular to critique my work with a bcc: to our supervisor. It’s such a bizarre situation. 2. Inefficient systems and inconsistent procedures that are being changed weekly causing massive confusion. In the past I would have said people who ignore correspondence, coworkers who fail to follow through on their portion of a shared project, coworkers who take credit for others’ work or coworkers who are unreliable. |
| There are 2 Gen Z colleagues in my office and they never send messages or emails. They will come to my desk to ask questions no matter how minor. I asked one of them once why he doesn't use email and he said it's faster to ask in person. |
| My youngest coworkers want to share every file etc via Teams and won’t email unless you request it. I hate having to look through old chats on Teams to find what I need. |
Isn't that the point of working in the office? |
Tell me you are a Millennial without telling me you are a Millennial. |
+1 I sometimes just don't respond. |
This is normal. |
| Ha, I have coworkers who do this too and it annoys me. Just type your question. Don’t type “Hi, Larla” and wait expectantly. |

I think I put this in the last thread.
Put this in your status: https://nohello.net/en/ |
Teams is for children. I don't need to use emojis in a professional setting. |
